Warning About Nexiderm Offer

Recently, I signed up for a free trial of Nexiderm, an anti-wrinkle cream, in order to participate in the FreePhotoiPods program. The site promised a 10-day trial of a cream valued at $75 for only $10 shipping and handling.

The cream arrived promptly and I opened it, sniffed it, and put it aside. My 10-day trial was set to expire Nov. 13, so on Nov. 12 I dialed the customer service number on the Web site and prepared to cancel. (The Optimize program membership is about $50 a month if you don't cancel, so this wasn't something I wanted to be part of.) I got a message saying they were experiencing "high call volume" and that I should call back later. There was no option to wait for a representative - I was hung up on by the phone system.

Since then, I've called no less than 6 times, at different times of day, in an attempt to cancel my membership. I've already sent back the cream, as I was instructed to do, but who knows if that will cancel my membership or not. I may have to dispute a charge, should one appear on my bill.

So be warned: The Nexiderm offer isn't worth the trouble.

Current or Future iPod owners...

...be extremely careful not to damage your headphones.

My cat recently took it upon himself to chew through my headphone wires, so now I have to get new ones, lest I accidentally shock myself while using my iPod Mini. So I called the Apple Store last night to get new ones. After about a 10-minute conversation, the representative told me that he could not sell me the plain, basic, $17 headphones like the ones that came with the iPod. However, I could purchase a fancy $39 set - would I like those?

Since I'm not picky about my headphones, I told him no, I wanted the $17 ones. In the end, I was told I'd have to call tech support to order a new pair. What was supposed to be a 5-minute phone order has now turned into an ordeal.

Just a word of advice. I don't quite understand why Apple doesn't have those readily available for sale on their site.

We're on Google!

Just noticed that this site is the #2 listing on Google for the search string "PhotoiPods." Hopefully some traffic will head our way soon...

Be sure to join our Yahoo group to get in on all the Gratis conga line action. We're also doing some of Offercentric's offers, such as MP3Players4Free.com and PVPs4Free.com. The conga is still young, so #2 spots are still available on some of them!

In addition, learned this interesting gem about the Offercentric deals: Now instead of choosing an iPod or other goodie, you can choose to have cash sent to you instead. The MP3Players4Free site is offering a $275 Visa gift card, and you can select a $450 gift card instead of the personal DVD player. Sounds like a deal to me.

FreeFlatScreens Offer Complete!

At long last, I have received my last referral for the FreeFlatScreens.com offer. On Saturday, I requested that Gratis approve my referrals. When that is done, I can order my Sony 27-inch TV!

This means that the #1 spot is available on our conga for the FreeFlatScreens offer. Anyone who signs up and completes an offer using the hot link on one of the other congas can put their link at the top of the flat-screen conga as well. Two congas for the price of one referral!

So What Are the Best Offers?

As everyone knows, to get your free stuff from Gratis, Offercentric and the like, you must complete a trial offer. Most of them require a credit card, although non-credit card offers like eBay come up every once in a while.

I personally recommend the Blockbuster Online option, as it is a great service and is free for two whole weeks. I'm getting my DVDs within one day of shipment (of course, this may have something to do with the fact that I live within one hour of the company's corporate headquarters) and haven't had a problem so far with their quality. Only drawback is, they tend not to have some of the lesser-known movies. I tried to find Last Tango in Paris and it was nowhere to be found. But if you tend to rent the new releases, then this may be perfect for you.

I've also done stamps.com, which also had a free trial and was easily cancellable. Same goes for AOL, with a 45-day trial period. I actually tried to cancel AOL when my trial was up and they extended my free offer to Dec. 15, which was nice. But be watchful - you don't want to end up with a bill!

Last but not least, I've tried Ancestry.com. It gives you (I think) two weeks free of some "Find Your Ancestor" service. However, if you fail to cancel before your trial is up, you're billed for $199 - so be cautious!

If you have any questions about these Gratis offers, feel free to e-mail me using the link on the right. I'm here to help!

Lightning-Fast Completions

Looks like people are "going green" rather quickly with the FreePhotoiPods offer. I've had two people sign up under me, and they're complete on the same day they signed up. Considering the wait time on some of the other Gratis offers, this is a real treat. It's one advantage of getting in on the game early.
As always, our Gratis conga lines are open to anyone who wants to get in on this little Internet gem.

Gratis now giving away PhotoiPods

Gratis has done it again, folks.

Apparently the great folks there have come up with another giveaway, this time for a photo iPod. These little gadgets not only store music, they store photos - up to 25,000 of them. Sign up at FreePhotoiPods.com.
These retail for about $500, so get in while the getting's good.

Free iPods, PCs, Purses and More

Welcome to the Official FreeIpods Blog. This blog will be used to post updates and news on Gratis Internet's free sites - freeipods.com, freeflatscreens.com, freehandbags.com and freedesktoppc.com.

This blog will be run in conjunction with our Yahoo!Groups "conga line" - an organized way to ensure that everyone gets their referrals and their FREE items. Join the group here.

By now, you may have heard about Gratis Internet and their promises of free items just for completing trial offers and getting your friends to do the same. Sounds a little shady, doesn't it? Well, I can assure you that it is NOT. In August, I received a FREE pink iPod Mini direct from Apple, courtesy of Gratis. You can see pictures of other users' successful scores at this website.

So how does it work? It starts with simply entering your email address at the appropriate site, using the referral link provided in our Yahoo! group. Then sign up for one trial offer on the site - AOL, Blockbuster and Infone are all good ones to try. After a day or two, when the site shows that your offer is "complete," you're free to cancel your trial offer, so as not to incur charges on your credit card.

After that, it's your turn to get people to complete trial offers using your referral link. Our Yahoo! group will provide the lion's share of your needed referrals, but you're free to get friends to sign up for you, too. But be careful - the offers are limited to one per household, so people living with you aren't eligible. Also make sure your friends sign up from their own computer, since Gratis tracks IP addresses and could possibly freeze your account if they think you're trying to sign up multiple times. In short, DON'T CHEAT - they will find out.

The number of needed referrals varies according to the site. You need 5 referrals for the iPod, 8 for the flat screen TV, 5 for the handbag and 10 for the Dell desktop.

So HOW can Gratis Internet afford to give away all this free stuff? Well, they're actually making money off of every customer that signs up for a trial offer. And not all people who sign up end up getting free items, so they put nothing out but still get the cash. More on Gratis' business process is in this story from Wired.
