Free iPods, PCs, Purses and More

Welcome to the Official FreeIpods Blog. This blog will be used to post updates and news on Gratis Internet's free sites - freeipods.com, freeflatscreens.com, freehandbags.com and freedesktoppc.com.

This blog will be run in conjunction with our Yahoo!Groups "conga line" - an organized way to ensure that everyone gets their referrals and their FREE items. Join the group here.

By now, you may have heard about Gratis Internet and their promises of free items just for completing trial offers and getting your friends to do the same. Sounds a little shady, doesn't it? Well, I can assure you that it is NOT. In August, I received a FREE pink iPod Mini direct from Apple, courtesy of Gratis. You can see pictures of other users' successful scores at this website.

So how does it work? It starts with simply entering your email address at the appropriate site, using the referral link provided in our Yahoo! group. Then sign up for one trial offer on the site - AOL, Blockbuster and Infone are all good ones to try. After a day or two, when the site shows that your offer is "complete," you're free to cancel your trial offer, so as not to incur charges on your credit card.

After that, it's your turn to get people to complete trial offers using your referral link. Our Yahoo! group will provide the lion's share of your needed referrals, but you're free to get friends to sign up for you, too. But be careful - the offers are limited to one per household, so people living with you aren't eligible. Also make sure your friends sign up from their own computer, since Gratis tracks IP addresses and could possibly freeze your account if they think you're trying to sign up multiple times. In short, DON'T CHEAT - they will find out.

The number of needed referrals varies according to the site. You need 5 referrals for the iPod, 8 for the flat screen TV, 5 for the handbag and 10 for the Dell desktop.

So HOW can Gratis Internet afford to give away all this free stuff? Well, they're actually making money off of every customer that signs up for a trial offer. And not all people who sign up end up getting free items, so they put nothing out but still get the cash. More on Gratis' business process is in this story from Wired.
